What is CS2 Prime status?
Prime is an account flag on your Steam/CS2 account. Free CS2 accounts can play, but they're pooled with a much higher share of fresh accounts, smurfs and cheaters. Prime accounts are matched primarily with other Prime accounts, which raises the average game quality. Prime also unlocks weapon drops, case drops and souvenir eligibility that free accounts don't get.
How to get CS2 Prime
- Buy the Prime Status Upgrade in-game or on the Steam store. This is now the standard route — a one-time purchase that permanently flags your account as Prime.
- Legacy CS:GO Prime — accounts that earned or bought Prime back in CS:GO carried it over to CS2.
